This picture from the late 1800s shows Buffalo Bill and friends with Sitting Bull, a highly regarded Lakota tribal chief. William Frederick Cody, better known as 'Buffalo Bill', was a scout during the American Civil War and Indian Wars, but is better known as the legendary showman who created 'Buffalo Bill's Wild West', a circus-like attraction performing shows displaying cowboy themes, and scenes from the frontier and Indian Wars, which traveled all around North America, and even into Europe from 1883 to approximately 1906.
